... that there has been an association of nature parks in Austria since 1995? This includes all nature parks from all over Austria. Also the five in Tyrol. The nature parks Kaunertal, Karwendel, Lech, Ötztal and the largest, the high mountain nature park Zillertaler Alps.
What is a nature park?
In any case a protected landscape! But not to be confused with a nature reserve. People have access and are even motivated to go into the green. Sounds good. But does one benefit from a nature park?
Both sides benefit, people and nature! Grasses, animals and trees are not affected by the machinations of civilization and people learn the right way to deal with the environment.
With an area of 422km², the high mountain nature park Zillertaler Alpen not only offers a habitat for many animal and plant species, but also creates space for various sports and leisure activities. Starting in Ginzling at 1,000 meters above sea level, up to the Hochfeiler at 3,509 meters above sea level, the diversity is enormous.
Also a large number of universities and other institutions from Germany and abroad are active in our nature park region and explore the diversity of the natural & cultural area, the changes the special features.
And for what all this?
The ultimate goal is to make the nature park a real experience for all of us.
No matter if you are looking for easy hikes or tours lasting several days for sporty discoverers, forest adventure days for families or the children's adventures about STOCK & Stein, insider tips for your own herbal pharmacy during a wild herb walk, or culinary hikes with cheese & honey tasting directly at the place of production - the program of the nature park is as diverse as nature itself.
