The difference between fortune and misfortune often hangs by a silken thread, as the saying goes. In the STOCK resort we therefore leave nothing to chance and rely on approx. 8.7 to 11 mm. Because that is how thick the climbing ropes are that make the climbing experience safe. On which routes the climbing adventure is particularly intense, STOCK hiking guide Martin knows very well. They are most certainly always where mountain and valley meet and the elements show themselves in their most primordial form. Thrills and kicks are guaranteed from the first to the very last meter of your climb.
Climbing in summer in Zillertal is much more than just sports, it is a true experience. Sheer rock walls craggily soar out of the green valley. Down below, the Ziller River meanders through meadows and fields. Up above pulsates the adventure that is life. Handhold by handhold you get closer to your goal: a divine panorama on the simple family via ferratas, a rock overhang for experienced climbing fans or a breathtaking climbing victory on one of the challenging routes.
Zillertal is regarded as the most active valley in the Alps and impresses climbers with spectacular climbing routes, five unique climbing crags, the indoor climbing and bouldering hall in Aschau open even in winter, an outdoor climbing tower and a natural spectacle without equal. Especially the via ferratas in Mayrhofen, Fügen, Gerlos, Hainzenberg, Ginzling and Hintertux are also waiting to be explored by you.
It is splendidly designed and has paved the way for many an alpine sports enthusiast to find their passion for climbing. With a walking time of around one hour it is ideal for beginners, but also has plenty of appeal for the advanced. The elevation difference is 210 m and the difficulty level is equivalent to B/C. That means that a head for heights and sure-footedness are required. On the via ferrata, short, earthy hiking trails alternate with steep climbs. The necessary climbing equipment can be easily borrowed locally, thus nothing stands in the way of the adrenaline experience anymore. This tour is offered once a week by STOCK resort with professional guiding and then the motto is #verticallytothetop.
But the climbing bug has not only caught the adults, children too want to scramble like the grown-ups! The holiday region Mayrhofen-Hippach therefore now boasts Tirol's first customised children's via ferrata with countless attractions, aimed at children from 6 to 14 years. It is designed for little hands and feet and the rules of climbing simply explained with easy-to-understand illustrations. Parallel to the children's via ferrata a high ropes course was developed - every section provides an opportunity to switch from the via ferrata to the high ropes course and back to the via ferrata again. This ensures there is no let-down in the excitement all the way to the finish and plenty of variety is provided for. We'd be delighted to help you and your children with booking climbing lessons for your sports holidays in Austria.
